Download Instructions

These instructions apply to Windows 7. If you are using a different system, they should be similar with perhaps some slight variations.

  • Right click on the file name

  • Click on "save target as"

  • This will open a "save as" box. At the very top you will see the folder name were the zip file will be saved. You can navigate to another folder by clicking on one of the folders on the left hand side, or create a new folder just for your downloads.

  • After you have chosen your folder, click on "save" and the zip file will download  and you'll see a "Download complete" box. (Don't close it. If you do, you'll have to find it again.)

  • Click on "open folder". If you closed the "Download Complete" box, you may have to navigate back to the folder where the zip file was saved. To open the zip file, you can either double click on it or right click and choose "Open", or you can click on  "Open With" and choose either Windows Explorer, WinZip, or another unzip utility you have installed.

  • You will now see all the formats and you can copy your format and paste it in a folder of your choice (e.g. Patterns or Quilters Niche patterns).

  • If you want a picture of the design, also extract either the WMF or PDF file and don't forget to have a look at the Important Notes file as it may have some information specific to your system or to the design in question.

NOTE
Patterns you download after paying for them through PayPal can be extracted the same way. However the name of the zip file will be your rather long order number.   If you ordered more than one pattern they will all be bundled into that one zip file. So you may have to extract several times. If you forgot where it was saved, you can do a search by order number (not by the individual file names you paid for).
